Since 1966, Anthony Mancini Inc., has been a local, family owned and operated business offering electrical hook-ups, installations, service and repairs.

The idea to start a business on my own never entered my mind. You know being an immigrant plus having a language barrier at the time it seemed somewhat impossible to start an electrical contracting business. However, in May 1966, I made the decision to start my own electrical contractor business.

The challenge at the time was that I didn’t have many connections in order to start and I also made a decision not use contacts from my old employer. One day I was having lunch with a co-worker friend from Lewiston, Maine. I told him about my idea about starting my own business. He informed that there was a general contractor in Rumford, Maine was looking for an electrical contractor. This was the break that I needed to get my business started. My wife, Phyllis, used to help me with the bookkeeping and writing up proposals, which was a big help for me back then.

As time went on my family grew. I have three sons, Tony, Gino and John, and a daughter named Janine. All of them at one point in time have worked in the business. However, my oldest son, Tony, decided to pursue a career in the medical field and today is an orthopedic surgeon and a resident in the Augusta, Maine area. The most difficult decision to make was turning the business over to Gino and John. I know that this was the right decision and that they will carry on the family business for years to come. We constantly strive to serve our customers with extensive knowledge and expertise we have gained in our industry, while continually offering the finest in customer service.

We currently employ thirty electricians with additional office and design staff. We also have vast knowledge and success in complete design / build projects.
